In February 2019, we first heard reports about the existence of Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro. Ming-Chi Kuo earlier predicted that the upcoming Apple laptop would feature a 16-inch display that will be released sometime this year. A new report from 9to5mac claims that it has discovered an image that seems to confirm one of the rumored features of the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple recently rolled out macOS Catalina 10.15.1, and it looks like the recent mac update is concealing more details about the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The image was first spotted by 9to5mac, which claims that it has seen the laptop's Touch ID and Touch Bar layout. Based on these discoveries, the site reports that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will feature a Touch ID power button separate from the Touch Bar.

This means the upcoming laptop from Apple has a distinct design change from the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which features a Touch ID button as an extension of the device's Touch Bar. Based on earlier leaked images, it is speculated that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will have a separate ESC key that will no longer be a part of the Touch Bar. But, it appears that it is not seen in the latest image discovered today.

However, considering that the Touch ID button is now separate from the Touch Bar, it makes sense that the ESC key is also separate. Earlier this month, the original 16-inch MacBook Pro icon was discovered, but it could not be found in the latest macOS 10.15.1 update. This only suggests that the images found on the latest Apple software updates are not indications that the highly anticipated laptop is releasing very soon.

Several reports claim that the 16-inch MacBook Pro might arrive in October, but it is the last day of the month, and yet we have not heard anything from the Cupertino-based tech titan. Apple only announced the AirPods Pro this week so, in the case of the release of the company's premium laptop, nothing is certain for now. The 16-inch MacBook Pro could arrive next month or in December, but if we look at the release pattern of Apple, the company has not yet held a non-October event.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a credible Apple tipster, recently mentioned that a new MacBook Pro with a scissor keyboard is coming in the second quarter or third quarter of 2020. Considering that the TFI analyst also previously predicted that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will have the same keyboard, he may be referring to the slightly bigger Apple laptop.
