Meghan Markle is married to Prince Harry for over a year now, but she had her share of romantic relationships before tying the knot with the Duke of Sussex. In fact, the former Suit star was married to American film director, producer, and talent agent Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013.
Now, reports revealed that Meghan Markle claimed that womanizer Ashley Cole was very persistent in pursuing her. Katie Hind shared that the Duchess of Sussex used to crave for a gossip column coverage. Once her publicist reached out to Hind and successfully landed the former actress for a feature on her column, she shared that the retired footballer was “trying really hard” to get her attention on Twitter back in 2013.
However, Ashley Cole’s brother Matty said that Meghan Markle lied about her revelation. “It’s nonsense, completely made up. He definitely wouldn’t have to beg Meghan Markle for a date. She’s not the kind of girl he goes for anyway, and he’s never fancied her,” he said.
Meanwhile, during her interview on the ITV documentary, Meghan Markle got emotional sharing that the British media was trying to “destroy” her. But, Katie Hind said that the Duchess of Sussex was the one who was craving for attention.
“It isn’t easy to reconcile the Meghan who appeared so at ease talking candidly with a tabloid journalist she had never previously met with the Duchess on our screens last weekend who spoke of her hatred for the British tabloids. Had contempt hidden behind the hugs on that rooftop bar six years ago? Did her smiles really mask a snarl of disgust?” Hind wrote. “Or is it that, as the Duchess of Sussex, she no longer needs the gossip column coverage that plain Meghan Markle once craved?”
Last month, Meghan Markle’s former friend Lizzie Cundy described her as “manipulating.” This is one of the main reasons why people couldn’t stop criticizing the Duchess of Sussex, as they felt that she’s not a genuine person. Being a former actress, many are not sure if she is being real to them, or she’s just acting like how she was trained in Hollywood.
Aside from being called fake and manipulative, Meghan Markle is also being blamed for Prince William and Prince Harry’s rift. The princes appeared to be less close after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot last year and they even removed themselves from the joint foundation with the Cambridges. It was during this time that people started to speculate that there was a feud going on between the two royal couples.
