Meghan Markle's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., is using his sister's image to make a few bucks. The Duchess of Sussex's estranged sibling is starring in a beer ad as a thief who steals Queen Elizabeth's crown, which also features a look-a-like of his royal sister.
According to Page Six, the beer ad is for Classic New York Beer and it shows Meghan Markle's brother burglarizing what looks like Buckingham Palace. He takes Queen Elizabeth's crown but sees the bottles of beer as well. When caught in the act by the royal guards, Thomas leaves the crown and snatches the bottles of beer instead.
As Thomas runs from the guards, his sister, played by actress Renee Wood, waits for him inside a Rolls Royce getaway car. The beer ad suggests that Meghan is a co-conspirator in this plot to steal from the royal family.
With Thomas now safely inside the car, the Meghan Markle look-a-like asks him if he was able to grab the "jewels." He tells her that he took something better and shows two bottles of beer, which the duchess calls "priceless."
The beer ad is set to air in China first before New York. Thomas told Page Six that he does not think anyone will be pissed off by the concept because it's supposed to be a comical scenario. The beer company's CEO Billie Mitchell, reportedly, wrote the ad's script and loved Thomas' energy and sense of humor.
Ironically, Meghan Markle's brother was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol in Oregon early this year. He and his royal half-sister have been estranged for years and he once called Meghan a phony.
Thomas also slammed Meghan Markle for her rift with their father, Thomas Sr. He chided the duchess for closing off on her blood relatives and for not letting their father see his grandson, Archie Harrison, who was born to the Sussex royals last May.
Meghan's older brother also reminded his royal sister that it was their dad who sent her to college and paid for her fancy clothes. If not for these things, Thomas implied that she would not have caught the eye of Prince Harry so she owed their father this acknowledgement.
Before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, Thomas allegedly wrote the duke a letter to warn him that marrying Meghan would be his biggest mistake. Thomas was not invited to the royal wedding. Despite his estrangement from Meghan, Thomas said that he hopes to reconcile with his younger sister.
