HyunA and DAWN made fans' hearts flutter as they opened up about their unique relationship and their creative process in staging their joint comeback as part of PSY's new record label.
According to a report by Soompi, real-life couple, HyunA and DAWN, made their solo comebacks on the same day with Flower Shower and Money, which were well-received by fans of the two singers.
During the press conference, HyunA and DAWN opened up about how they went about working on their separate albums and revealed the slightly competitive nature of their relationship.
According to HyunA, they went to work on their albums separately and gave each other the space to explore their creative process. HyunA admitted that she and DAWN did not know a lot about each other's projects until they were heading towards the end of production.
"You will know when you see our performances, but [DAWN] does not let me win. We are busy doing our own things on stage, and it's the same way with releasing our albums," HyunA said. She said this added an even greater synergy in their relationship. She also thanked their label's CEO PSY for helping them with their albums.
HyunA said that PSY gave her a lot of advice that motivated her to do well. For his part, DAWN said that because PSY was an artist himself, he provided a lot of inputs and cared for the album like it was his own work. He said that PSY's support gave him and HyunA more confidence as artists.
It can be recalled that the couple left their label last year because of issues surrounding their relationship. HyunA and DAWN left Cube Entertainment after making their relationship public in contrast to the label denying it.
However, the pair quickly found a new home with PSY's newly established record label, P-Nation, last January. They were some of the first artists to sign up with the Gangnam Style singer, Billboard reported.
Meanwhile, now that their relationship is out in the open, HyunA went on the record to admit that she was the one who first confessed her feelings to her beau before they started dating. In an interview, she revealed that she liked DAWN for a while before deciding to tell him how she felt. Luckily, he reciprocated her feelings and they became a couple.
HyunA also revealed her boyfriend's thoughtful and aegyo side when they were together. According to the Flower Shower singer, the Money artist isn't a big eater but would often eat with her. She also shared that DAWN had a cuter side when they were alone. More than anything, she said that they connected with their common love for music.
