BLACKPINK is proving that it is a genuine force to be reckoned with as it ushered in its third music video to reach 600 million views. This ties the K-pop group with Psy for the record of having the most number of MVs to surpass the 600 million mark.
According to a report by All Kpop, BLACKPINK's "As If Its Your Last" video recently joined the 600 million views circle after "DDU-DU, DDU-DU" and "Boombayah" hit the same milestone several months back. "DDU-DU, DDU-DU" currently has over 824 million views while "Boombayah" has over 605 million views on the streaming platform. Another video making its way to the 400 million views mark is "Kill This Love," which currently has 324 million views on youtube.
Meanwhile, as BLACKPINK's popularity soars all around the world, members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose are maintaining their strong position locally as the YG Entertainment artists took the top spot on this week's Inkigayo. The group's "Kill This Love" won the #1 rank after it was pitted with strong contenders like TWICE and fellow YG artists WINNER on the music show, another report indicated.
It was also teased that BLACKPINK will appear in the upcoming episode of talent search Stage K after the show released a clip showing the K-pop group appearing in their program. Based on the clip, BLACKPINK members will be tasked to judge different groups who will be performing dance covers of their greatest hits.
Among the scheduled performers are Team Japan, Team Belgium, Team Poland, and Team France. In different languages, BLACKPINK members encouraged the contestants to do their best and step up their game to give a good show to the audience. When the contestants took to the stage, however, members were visibly impressed by the level of performance that the contenders displayed.
The clip showed a surprised Jennie as she turned to Lisa to the exclaim: "Did you see that? Did you see that?" The promo later showed how BLACKPINK members were torn over which group to vote for given their level of professionalism. In a report by Soompi, program host Jun Hyun Moo said that apart from having the best performances, it was a treat to have BLACKPINK on the show because of the warm reception from the audience. He admitted, though, that it became slightly difficult to interview with the K-pop stars because the moment they stepped on stage, the audience erupted in wild cheers.
