Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's rebuilding project for Manchester United appears to be in full swing as reports indicated that the Red Devils are planning to bring in a young sensation from Bundesliga. Forward Kai Havertz is said to be the Reds' latest transfer target, and the youngster might just make the jump to England soon.

That's because a move to Old Trafford could win Havertz, presently part of the Bayer Leverkusen roster, a bumper deal amounting to £80 million, Metro reported.

Despite competing clubs also chasing the rising German star, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is said to be firmly confident that Havertz will soon don the Red Devils jersey. It was not mentioned, however, what exactly is United's edge over the other clubs wanting to get the youngster.

Solskjaer's quest of landing Havertz will need to get the better of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Juventus as all these giants have active plans of winning the nod of Havertz's camp.

United is said to be pushing hard on the Havertz transfer deal, and according to The Guardian now is the best to work for the German's imminent jump to the Premier League. That's because most European teams are distracted by the thought of recruiting another Bundesliga sensation, Norwegian Erling Haaland.

It makes sense for the Reds to work quietly on moving over Havertz to Old Trafford as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus are scrambling to temp Haaland away from the Red Bull Salzburg, the report added.

As for Havertz, trying out a new setting seems to be on his card, and it could happen as early as the summer of 2020. According to the Express, the youngster is open to a change of club and the switch could even bring him overseas.

Havertz said the rumors that link him to Bayern Munich are nothing new because young players who want to make it big in German football would want to be associated with the Bavarian club, which he described as "probably the biggest club in Germany."

A move to Bavaria is something that cannot be ruled for him, but Havertz made clear that nothing is definite at the moment.

He can confirm though that playing outside of his homeland is now a serious consideration.

"I think I've picked up enough international experience at Leverkusen. I know the rhythm of these international matches and I'm confident that I can go abroad at any moment and play at clubs outside of Germany," Havertz was reported as saying.

It is United though that seemed dead-serious on giving Havertz a good start away from Germany. Per the same Express report, Woodward is said to be willing to triple any offer that will be presented on the German forward.
