Has Queen Elizabeth taken Prince Harry and Meghan's royal titles and privileges? This was the recent headline from a printed news, which also cited that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have quit the royal family.
The story ran on the print edition of the National Enquirer, which also implied the turmoil in Buckingham Palace. The news comes after Prince Harry and Meghan opened up in a documentary interview that they are struggling with the media's scrutiny over their lives as royals.
The said interview, allegedly, disappointed some members of the royal family. It shocked the royals for Prince Harry and Meghan to reveal their feelings to the public when they should have lived by Queen Elizabeth's motto to "never complain, never explain."
According to Radar Online, Queen Elizabeth summoned Prince Harry and Meghan to her private quarters after the documentary aired. She apparently told the Sussex royals to "get a grip" of their behavior in public.
The meeting, reportedly, resulted in a "showdown" where Prince Harry and Meghan "demanded" a six-week break from their royal duties. However, Queen Elizabeth told the couple they could take a "permanent vacation" instead.
However, it doesn't look like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quit the royal family despite what the reports suggested. Sans an official announcement of their renouncement from Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry and Meghan were actually performing their royal duties this week and thus are still part of the royal family.
The Sussex royals were at the Field of Remembrance event to surprise and honor military families. They sat down and talked with the descendants of Britain's war heroes and reflected on the service that these men gave their lives for.
Later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were at Westminster Abbey for the official opening of the event. For this somber occasion, Meghan wore a black dress over a navy coat, black heeled boots and gloves. Prince Harry, on the other hand, dressed in his military uniform. He was stationed in Afghanistan while serving the military a few years back.
Meanwhile, Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, was supposed to join Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for this occasion since she is a patron of the Poppy Factory that organized the event. However, BBC reported that Prince Charles' wife decided to pull out from the event because of chest infection.
A spokeswoman from Clarence House said that the duchess was advised by her doctors to cancel her engagements since her infection was getting worse. Camilla also missed a Wednesday royal engagement because of her illness.
