Like the rest of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent the most time last week honoring the heroes of war. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended and participated during the Remembrance Day ceremonies in the U.K. over the weekend and they also showed their respects to the American war heroes on Veterans Day last Nov. 11.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Prince Harry and Meghan were at the 91st Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey to be with the families of the veterans. They paid their respects to the Royal Armed Forces of the past and present. This was the duke's 7th time to grace the event while it was a first for the Duchess of Sussex.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, Prince Harry and Meghan joined Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla and the rest of the royal family for the Festival of Remembrance's 75th Anniversary. This was the Sussex pair's second time to experience the unique tribute to those who have made sacrifices for the country.

The next day, Prince Harry joined his brother, Prince William, and father, Prince Charles, on the ground as they laid wreaths at the Cenotaph of the National Service of Remembrance for the war heroes. Wearing their military uniforms, the princes saluted the war heroes while Queen Elizabeth, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle watched the solemn ceremony from the balcony.

On Monday, Nov.11, Meghan shared a throwback photo of her time with the USO Tour to honor the U.S. soldiers serving in many parts of the world. She stated in the post that she "always had such a profound respect for our nation's troops and military families" and she also expressed her thanks for the soldiers.

As the Remembrance and Veterans day memorials and celebrations are winding down, Prince Harry and Meghan are set to go on a six-week break for the holidays. They will be spending Thanksgiving in Los Angeles for the first time with their son, Archie Harrison, and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.

While Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to return to London in time for Christmas Day at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham's estate, reports now say that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might stay in the U.S. after all. According to Hello! the Sussex pair could decide not to return to the U.K. for Christmas. There are also reports saying that they might be looking for their second home in America so they could spend part of time in Los Angeles.
