Juventus is reportedly anxious that its superstar Cristiano Ronaldo might worsen the condition of his knee injury by playing for the Portugal team. The 34 years old football superstar is currently training with Portugal for its upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers. Ronaldo is expected to play for the country's national football team in both matches against Luxemburg and Lithuania.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri said last weekend that Cristiano Ronaldo has a swelling knee. Surprisingly, Portugal boss Fernando Santos claims that the football legend is training normally. It can be recalled that Sarri removed Ronaldo from the game after 55 minutes during the club's game against AC Milan last Sunday because the Portuguese footballer is suffering from an injury.

The Juventus coach was quoted saying that Ronaldo got a blow to the knee and has a hematoma on the internal collateral. Sarri admitted that while it is not a big problem it requires proper conditioning. Reports in Italy revealed that Ronaldo has been struggling with the injury for three weeks and has not trained with the Italian team.

The injury was first reported prior to the Juventus' game against Genoa last Oct. 30. He played for a full 90 minutes during Juventus' win at Torino and 82 minutes during the Champions League game against Lokomotiv Moscow. However, the cause of Juventus' apprehension, according to reports, is Portugal boss' downplaying Ronaldo's injury and his plan of using the Portuguese footballer on the team's game scheduled on Thursday against Lithuania in Faro.

The defending European champions will attempt to secure automatic qualification in Group B against Serbia and will travel to Luxemburg on Sunday. In his recent interview, Portugal coach Santos insisted that Ronaldo was motivated as ever and has been training normally. He added that if he had seen the superstar is not good he would not have called him. Santos said that everyone just wants to talk about Ronaldo because he is the best player in the world.
