Arsenal has suffered another defeat this time against Leicester City with a 2-0 defeat. Many criticized the team’s performance against its latest rival among them is the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, Alan Shearer. Meanwhile, Gunners’ captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang met an accident prior to their game last Saturday.
According to Alan Shearer, if he was playing up front for the Gunners in Unai Emery’s current set-up, he would be screaming now in the dressing room. He was perplexed to see two of the most lethal Premier League’s marksmen starved of service during Arsenal’s latest match, which left the team trailing the Foxes by nine points. Alexandre Lacazette, who could be feeling his way back from an injury and missed eight games, failed in securing Arsenal’s best opportunity during the match.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, meanwhile, had a goal ruled out for off-side right after Jamie Vardy’s opener. Unai Emery has asked his front duo to man-mark Leicester City’s charging full-backs. Shearer claimed that Emery’s strategy made sense but he is still puzzled at the absence of ammunition the Arsenal midfield failed to give them.

According to the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, Aubameyang and Lacazette were tasked by Unai emery to play slightly wider and track the full-backs. He added that he would not mind doing the task on the condition that when they get the ball, they are going to create chances. It’s okay to go backward, but you have to give something that the player could go and feed off the other way, Shearer pointed out.
However, Shearer noted that there was nothing and only a single effort from Lacazette during the first half where he could have scored. He added that nothing was being fed up to the players to run in behind. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s newly appointed captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was recently involved in a vehicular accident. His Lamborghini collided with another vehicle on Friday evening, but he was unhurt. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was returning home after a training session when the accident happened. The 30 years old footballer was pictured by passers-by standing next to the crumpled bonnet of his car.
