Napoli is currently experiencing some sort of civil war within the club. New reports emerge claiming that the club might file legal charges against the players after their rebellion against the president. Moreover, Coach Carlo Ancelotti's post might be at risk with speculations claiming that he might get sacked.

Just recently, Napoli released an official statement that seemingly confirmed speculations that it would take legal action against its players. It states that Napoli will proceed to protect the rights of the club in terms of capital, economic, image, and disciplinary levels in every aspect covered by its jurisdiction. This is about the behavior of the players last Tuesday.

The statement goes on, stating that the responsibility with deciding orders for a training retreat depends on coach Carlo Ancelotti. Napoli also ordered a press silence between now and until the date that the company will soon disclose. Several reports claimed that Ancelotti went alone to the assigned hotel as the players headed home.

The players' actions seemed to have drawn the battle lines between the players and the Napoli executives. Speculations have it that Ancelotti might be ousted or might file a resignation because of the fallout. Usually, clubs sent in ritiro are in the middle of a total crisis but Napoli club president weighed down that his decision is simply a chance for the players to get to know each other.

Napoli's performance could be viewed as bad to create panic but the recent tension was clear after Tuesday's performance, says The Sun. Ancelotti also refused to conduct a post-match press conference. Only Lorenzo Insigne faced the press after the final whistle after striker Fernando Llorente bailed out.

Napoli finished a 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg in the Champions League, making just three wins out of ten games across all competitions. Club president Aurelio De Laurentis wanted the squad to go on a training retreat as its punishment for its weekend loss to Roma. The act is a common course of action and is more popularly known as in ritiro in Italian football.

The disciplinary camp is at Castel Volturno training ground and is scheduled to last for the entire week. But, instead of getting on the team bus, players were reportedly seen hopping on their cars driving home. The act is the players' rebellion against the club president De Laurentiis, reported La Gazetta Dello Sport.
