Arsenal reportedly has identified the top two candidates that could fill the shoes of Unai Emery in the event that the Gunners Sack him. Fans have long been calling for the resignation of the Spanish professional football coach. Disappointments from Arsenal supporters could be due to high expectations from Unai Emery ever since he took the job as Arsene Wenger's replacement.

The former Sevilla and PSG boss is currently under extreme pressure and reportedly fighting to keep his job. Earlier reports claim that the top executives at the Emirates have already given Unai Emery four matches to prove his salt. Following reports that the head of football of the Gunners have recently dined with Jose Mourinho, new reports reveal that Arsenal has already identified its top two picks to replace the former PSG coach.

Metro reports that Mikel Arteta and Massimiliano Allegri are the top two choices for Unai Emery's post. Although former Chelsea and Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho have been recently linked to Emery's position, it appears that he is not being considered at this stage. Instead, the Gunners are looking at Mikel Arteta, the former Arsenal midfielder, who was strongly associated with the job before Unai Emery was appointed.

Meanwhile, the legendary coach Max Allegri is also being considered for Emery's post. Allegri is the Juventus' hero who has led the team to win five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias during his stint in Turin. He left the Italian titan earlier this year and is on a sabbatical.

Arsenal is currently on the fifth spot in the Premier League, dropping out of the top four following its 1-1 match against the Wolves last Saturday. Out of the last five matches, the Gunners were only able to manage one win. October has been a disastrous month for the Spanish coach, who witnessed the team getting defeated at Sheffield United prior to dropping points against the Wolves and Crystal Palace.

It appears that the Arsenal board is still committed to giving Unai Emery the chance to turn things around, and he was reportedly given this month to convince them to stick with him.
