President Elizabeth McCord will not let the impeachment inquiry against her to drag longer than it should be. She intends to finish it all in the upcoming Madam Secretary Season 6 Episode 9 regardless of what the result will be.

Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) will "carpe diem" or seize the day to do the job she got elected to uphold: to decide for the welfare and safety of the Americans. While facing a threat of impeachment, POTUS will deal with another national security crisis.

According to the official synopsis for the penultimate episode of the series, a military conflict in international waters. It looks like the situation could put the country in a nuclear confrontation with another nation.

President McCord is expected to show off her expertise in diplomatic negotiation and back channeling to try to de-escalate the situation. In this episode, Elizabeth is most likely to ask her national security council for possible tactics that they can use in case the conflict will spiral to worse.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth will also seize her day at the congressional inquiry about her alleged collusion with Iran in hacking and leaking the private records of her presidential opponent during the campaign. The President's critics stressed that Elizabeth's alleged action altered the result of the election and that she is not the duly elected president of the country.

In the previous episode, the House Judiciary Committee subpoena Elizabeth's husband, Dr. Henry McCord (Tim Daly), and her daughter, Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood), to testify in its open hearing. The House inquiry on Henry and Stevie did not go well for the McCords.

The committee chairman's line of questioning focused on how the First Gentleman and the First Daughter acquired their past and present jobs. Stevie was also asked about her relationship with Dmitri Petrov (Chris Petrovski), the former Russian Army captain who Henry recruited to become American spy to Russia.

At the end of Episode 8, Elizabeth told Henry that she decided to invoke her executive privilege, and she would like to testify in the House's impeachment inquiry. Henry expressed his support for his wife's decision.

She is accompanied by Henry, her Chief-of-Staff Russell Jackson (Željko Ivanek), and the counselor to the President, Mike Barnow (Kevin Rahm).

Madam Secretary Season 6 Episode 9 airs on December 1 at 10 p.m. on CBS. Meanwhile, the series finale will be out on December 8.
