Empire season 6 episode 8 aired on Tuesday night, Nov. 26, on Fox and a lot of things happened within this episode, titled "Do You Remember Me." But perhaps, the most notable storyline here is that Cookie decided to return to the music world.
Cookie's passion for music returned in Empire season 6 episode 8 as she nurtured star from Empire's past. This also made her think to leave her other endeavors and just spend most of her time in music. In addition, the episode also highlighted how difficult it is to be in this kind of industry.
Lucious didn't give Melody the chance to be in the music industry for long as he couldn't see her drive to transition. He also threatened her with a lawsuit and caused damage to her career. But then, Cookie recognized Melody's talent and strives hard to nurture that talent in Empire season 6 episode 8.
She used the tough-love approach because she believed that there's more to the artist. Melody's career has been tainted after Lucious dismissed her in Empire season 6 episode 8. However, she felt motivated and wanted to let him see what the label missed out on.
Cookie really believed in the talent of Melody, and she even returned her ring to Lucious. He soon realized his error, where he both failed in helping Melody and maintaining his marriage with Cookie. Eventually, he gave back the ring to Cookie and allowed Melody to start her career once again.
Lucious is a ruthless man and wants all the power in the world. But, he's starting to change after Andre told him his truth in episode 7. But although things are getting better now, the series still needs to regain its focus, according to TV Fanatic.
Bryshere Gray is away most of the season, while Jussie Smollett exits in the series. Jamal got a proper ending, but Hakeem disappears most of the time. So, the only Lyons that viewers usually see are Lucious, Cooke, and Andre. Since this is the final season, the series will likely wrap their stories up nicely.
Perhaps, one of the biggest questions is the death of Lucious and Cookie. There are a lot of speculations on whether or not the two will make it until the end. Some believe that Lucious' death isn't a big fake-out, and Cookie's demise could actually be the fake one.
