Life goes on for the friends and family of Corey but not for his son, Spencer. The aspiring football superstar is mourning the death of his father, and this will affect his view about the sports in the upcoming All American Season 2 Episode 8.
Actor Chad L. Coleman bid farewell to his character, Corey James, in the previous episode of The CW sports drama. Spencer's (Daniel Ezra) biological father died in Episode 7 from the life-threatening illness that also stopped him from pursuing his dream to become a famous professional football player. Spencer is also upset that Corey died before he can return to Crenshaw and at least spend some time with his sons.
In the upcoming All American Season 2 Episode 8, Spencer is having second thoughts about his football ranking. The teaser for the episode shows Spencer asking for advice from Layla (Greta Onieogou). She, however, tells him that she might not be the best person to be asked for advice as she has lots of questions about life, too, particularly about the death of her mother.
It seems like, in the coming episode, Layla will find the truth about the death of her mother, Monica Keating. The teaser shows her looking for some newspaper clips about the car accident in Switzerland that killed her mother, who is a musician at the time.
Layla can be heard asking Spencer what if her mother committed suicide by a road accident. Spencer tells her that they will never know the truth about what happened on the night of the accident because the only person who can say it with certainty is already dead.
"People do mess up things when they are hurting," Layla said.
Meanwhile, Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) will receive unexpected news in Episode 8. It could be about his relationship with his father, Billy (Taye Diggs), or the status of his parents' relationship. In this episode, Jordan's mother, Laura (Monet Mazur) will be making a decision about where she and Billy stand.
The news could also be about Jordan's position in the Beverly High American football team. This season, Jordan was left out when Spencer and Asher (Cody Christian) became offensive captains. Elsewhere, Asher will get some answers from his parents on what happened last year.
All American Season 2 Episode 8 is the last episode of the series this year. It will take a short break for the holidays, and it is expected to return early next year. All American Season 2 Episode 8 will air on December 2 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
