It’s no secret that a lot of Royal fans are not supporters of Meghan Markle. Ever since the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family last year, she has been bombarded with negative comments.
Previous reports even claimed that Meghan Markle is hard to work with. Since her top aide, Samantha Cohen, resigned last October to work for an eco-charity, many are suspecting if the decision had something to do with the attitude of Prince Harry’s wife.
As it turns out, Samantha Cohen already announced last year that she would be moving on from being a top aide after Meghan Markle gave birth to baby Archie. After Prince Harry and the former actress welcomed their firstborn, the top royal aide proceeded with her decision.
Samantha Cohen had been working for the royal family for 17 years, which is why her departure was quite surprising. The former top aid took a job with Cool Earth, which is an eco-charity committed to reducing carbon emissions.
“Cool Earth is delighted to welcome Samantha Cohen, former advisor to the Royal Household, as co-chair of its Board of Trustees,” Cool Earth's website from trustee, Mark Ellingham, announced in a statement. “Samantha’s distinguished career ranges from working for the Australian Government to the Royal Household, where she was Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen from 2011-2018, and Head of Royal Communications before this.”
Since Samantha Cohen joined the non-profit organization that works to halt deforestation and climate change, many are convinced that she resigned because she didn’t like it when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparked a private jet row over the summer while preaching about saving the planet.
While critics of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to link Samantha Cohen’s resignation to the royal couple in a negative way, there is no proof that the top aide’s decision had anything to do with her discontent with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at all.
"As she reaches the end of her most recent role as Private Secretary to TRH The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Samantha joins Cool Earth with a wealth of professional experience and a personal passion for protecting the world’s forests,” Mark Ellingham continued. “We are delighted to have Sam Cohen join Cool Earth, after playing such a key role in the creation of the Queens Commonwealth Canopy – an initiative that has done so much to protect forests around the world and to highlight the importance of its preservation and revival."
