Watchmen episode 8 is set to arrive later this week, with the title "A God Walks Into A Bar." The upcoming episode will likely explore what happened to Dr. Manhattan and Angela Abar in the past. The previous episode left a huge cliffhanger about these two and teased their backstory.

Watchmen episode 8 will focus on Dr. Manhattan, as it was revealed he's actually alive and just hiding in plain sight all the time. The promo of the latest episode teased it would dive deeper into the character's past, as well as Angela.

The teaser of Watchmen episode 8 starts with Dr. Manhattan picking up his iconic blue mask. Then, the clip shifts to him talking to Angela in a bar, suggesting that the two will explore their romantic relationship and how it all started. In the clip, Dr. Manhattan told Angela that he loves her, but the latter replied, "we just met".

Then, he explained that love works completely different for him because he has his concept of time. It seems like the two first met in a bar in Vietnam, and this only makes sense since the previous episode already hinted Angela's past in that country would be revealed.

However, it looks like everything would be different for them at present. As seen in the promo, the scene shifts to Angela, avoiding a gunshot. Then, at the end of Watchmen episode 8 trailer, Dr. Manhattan told her: "I just told you that you couldn't save me and you're going to try to anyway."

What happened to them will be revealed in the upcoming episode, and it seems like their story is bigger than expected. There are only a few episodes before the season ends, so a lot of things will unfold about Angela's past, as well as her connection to Dr. Manhattan.

As for what else is coming, the new episode will also see Lady Trieu's Millennium Clock plan, which she has been building to save the world. Also, Adrian Veidt will likely be back, especially now that it was revealed what happened to him. It may also show how he manages to be on a different timeline for the rest of the story.

Watchmen episode 8 will air on Sunday, Dec. 8, on HBO. For UK-based viewers, the episode will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic and will be available on NOW TV as well.
