Shawn Mendes has failed to perform in his sold-out concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil, due to laryngitis. His fans have only one request to the singer after he announced the cancellation.

Mendes has announced on his social media account that he couldn't perform on the second day of his Brazil concert due to illness. The 21-year-old Canadian singer apologized for the cancelation and explained that he was forced to do so because of laryngitis.

The "In My Blood" singer kicked off the Latin America leg of his Shawn Mendes: The Tour in Sao Paulo on November 29. During the concert, the singer protested about climate change in the middle of his performance. On Saturday, he spotted visiting a medical clinic in Sao Paulo.

Mendes said after waking up feeling ill, he immediately went to a doctor and found out that he is suffering from laryngitis and sinus infection, which caused the swelling on his vocal cords. Camila Cabello's boyfriend said his doctor advised him not to perform in the meantime to avoid long-term damage to his voice.

The announcement broke the heart of Mendes' fans. They expressed their well-wishes for the singer, but many also took to Twitter to convey their one demand to the "If I Can't Have You" crooner. The Mendes Army wants the singer to reschedule the concert to a later date rather than to refund their tickets.

In his post, Mendes promised to make up to his fans when he returns to South America. However, he did not give a specific date for his return or information whether or not the canceled show will be rescheduled.

Many fans said the singer's health should be a priority and they understand why he needs to call off the event. Others, however, want Mendes to reconsider his decision to cancel the show because it has been two years since they last saw him.

"It was sold out please think about that, no money could pay everybody's frustration, we wanted (and still want) so badly to see you," one fan wrote.

The "Mercy" singer is set to return on stage in Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro on December 3. So far, Mendes hasn't made any announcement if his vocal cords have already healed.

After Brazil, he will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for a two-night concert on December 6 and 7. He will also perform for his fans in Chile and Peru. Mendes' 2019 world tour will wrap in Mexico City on December 21.
