Legacies season 2 is currently airing in The CW, and there are a lot of exciting happenings in the series. Perhaps, one of the most anticipated things this season is what will now happen to Josie and Hope as the latter casually revealed she once had a crush on Josie.

In the past, these two already admitted to having crushes for each other, yet their feelings don't seem to be the main focus in the series. Now, Danielle Rose Russell, who plays Hope, has something to say about her character's recent confession to Josie in Legacies season 2.

She said that she wasn't really shocked Hope confessed to Josie, but it's just "weird timing." Russell revealed she always knew her character was sexually fluid, so the revelation didn't shock her. The actress added she's glad the writers established it in the real world, rather than in an alternate universe.

During the first season, Josie already admitted she had a crush on Hope, and it looks like the latter briefly returned that affection in Legacies season 2. The possibility for a relationship is very likely, but Russell also said that "Hope is practically Josie and Lizzie's other sister" right now.

The potential relationship between Josie and Hope in Legacies season 2 is really interesting, especially when considering the Vampire Diaries universe. The show has a similar scenario back in 2009, wherein Elena casually revealed she once had feelings for Caroline.

Russell said they're not afraid to be super progressive, and she's happy to be part of the series. She also revealed that some people compare Hope and Elena, but for the actress, the two characters are beyond different. She added that a progression for ten years shaped the characters and protagonists.

Back in 2018, Kaylee Bryant (Josie) also discussed her sentiment about "Hosie." In a report from TVLine, she said it's very rare that the lead female character of a series is attracted to a female, or considered bi, pan, or not straight. She said that the fact fans don't think it's strange excites her.

Right now, there are a lot of different directions for both Hope and Josie. Hope still got other potential partners in the series, while there are also plenty of Josie and Penelope fans out there. Thus, there are still many other stories worth exploring within the series.

Legacies season 2 air every Thursday on The CW.
