EXO's Chanyeol was the happiest fanboy when he got to meet Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds in Korea for the promotion of his Netflix movie, 6 Underground.
According to a report by Koreaboo, EXO was invited to perform as the household representative of Korea at Netflix's special 6 Underground event, attended by lead stars Ryan Reynolds, Melanie Laurent, and Adria Arjona at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. EXO members performed their recent comeback hit, Obsession, and were given the opportunity to interact with the movie's cast.
After the performance, EXO's Chanyeol, who was a big fan of Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, hilariously made a beeline for the Hollywood star when the time came to take photos. Fans were amused to see his excitement.
"Chanyeol literally couldn't stop smiling while standing next to Ryan Reynolds. Please, he's the cutest fanboy and it looks like the happiest day of his life," a Twitter user observed.
According to EXO-Ls, it was obvious that Chanyeol wanted to be the one standing next to his idol when the press took the pictures.
It can be recalled that in 2018, the EXO member loved the movie so much that he ordered a Deadpool costume from the movie's actual costume designer so that he could wear the outfit to SM Entertainment's Halloween Wonderland Party.
However, the costume ended up getting stuck in Korean Customs because the props looked too real that authorities had to put them on hold. While the singer was bummed that his costume was not released on time for the party, he reportedly made sure he got to show it off by wearing the outfit to his special birthday event that year.
Chanyeol's fanboy exploits did not go to waste. In a series of Instagram posts, the EXO member shared a selca with Ryan which he captioned: "Successful Fan."
He also shared that he and Ryan Reynolds talked about his Deadpool costume where the actor said he actually saw Chanyeol's suit.
Later, Ryan Reynolds posted his own fanboy moment when he claimed to be a member of EXO in a post he captioned: "This means I'm in the band."
He also posted another group picture with EXO where he used his wit to joke about the security tasering him and how the guys working in his basement studio were part of his imagination.
Of course, Chanyeol did not miss the opportunity to interact with his idol again. He reposted Ryan's post and shared in on his Instagram Stories. "Is this real?" he said, tagging the Deadpool actor.
