Apple will start accepting pre-orders for the 2019 Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR on Dec. 10. A few weeks ago, the Cupertino tech giant confirmed that the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR would be released in December. However, we are almost halfway through the month, but the company has not yet provided us with a specific date.
In an email sent by Apple to selected customers and reported by Macrumors, the company states that the pre-orders will start on Dec. 10. The general assumption right now is that soon after the pre-orders open up, the shipment might commence, according to reports. The Mac Pro was announced earlier this year and is anticipated to sport a new design that will see it stepping away from the 'trash can' aesthetic of its predecessor.
However, the 2019 Mac Pro will still sport a familiar design, including an upright aluminum tower. It will also reportedly have its front punctuated with 3D-carved airholes that look like mini propellors or in other words, mini cheese grater. Behind the eye-catching grille, what is most exciting about the upcoming device is the 28-core Intel Xeon W processor.
This is paired with a massive 1.5 TB of DDR4 ECC memory scattered across 12 DIMM slots. The 2019 Mac Pro graphics side will offer up to four GPUs from the AMD Radeon Pro range. It will reportedly come with eight PCI Express expansion slots and an optional afterburner card that speeds up the ProRes and ProRes RAW codecs in QuickTime Player X, Final Cut Pro X, and select third-party apps.
The 2019 Mac Pro based on rumored specs is shaping up to be another beast, the only question is when exactly will it become available to the consumers. Apple has already said that the powerhouse machine will be released sometime in the fall of 2019. According to YouTuber Marques Brownlee, the upcoming Mac Pro will have a base price of $5,999, with the figures spiraling up as you check other options.

Meanwhile, the Apple Pro Display XDR is not solely designed for the Mac Pro, but it is an ideal pairing. The upcoming display will measure 32-inches with a full Retina 6K display at 6016 x 3384 resolution. The most interesting part of the forthcoming display is the Extreme Dynamic Range support with 1600 nits of peak brightness, a thousand nits of full-screen sustained brightness, and P3 wide color gamut support.
