Royal brothers Prince Andrew and Prince Charles do not have the best relationship. It's long been rumored that Queen Elizabeth's sons do not see eye to eye and this was most recently evident when Prince Charles summoned Prince Andrew for a crisis lunch.

Sources revealed to royal correspondent Russel Myers that Prince Andrew was called Sandringham to see his big brother and father, Prince Philip, after his disastrous BBC interview. The mood was tensed even as there were no screaming matches, which the royal staffers expected.

Prince Charles allegedly told Prince Andrew that he would not be back in The Firm shortly. Though he felt that the decision was harsh, especially as the allegations against him have yet to be proven in court, Prince Andrew agreed to have another meeting with Prince Charles at Clarence House soon.

Speculations are that Prince Charles will be cutting off his brother permanently from performing his royal duties once he is King of England. But to many others following the royal family for years, this was hardly surprising.

Prince Andrew and Prince Charles' gap started way back in their childhood. Aside from their 11-year age difference, Charles was raised differently than his siblings because he was the future monarch. He also didn't have much time with his mother, Queen Elizabeth, since she had to ascend the throne and fulfill her duty when her oldest child was only five years old.

As young boys, Prince Charles claimed that Prince Andrew dreamt of becoming the heir to the throne, as per the documentary Paxman on the Queen's Children. Growing up, Prince Charles was reportedly exasperated with the way Prince Andrew conducted himself in public, even if the Prince of Wales had his share of controversy with his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

In 2001, when Prince Andrew left the royal navy, he rejected the offer from Prince Charles to work as his aide. According to reports, the Duke of York did not want to become the one member of the royal family that his brother, the future King, would rely on.

The feud further deepened when Prince Andrew accused Prince Charles of edging his family out of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It was Prince Charles who organized this event and only allowed himself, his wife Camilla, his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton to stand next to Queen Elizabeth.

Prince Andrew apparently also does not like that his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, aren't recognized as full-time royals when they are blood princesses. Meanwhile, Prince Charles' daughters-in-law, Kate and Meghan, who married his sons, are high-ranking members of the royal family.
