Princess Beatrice will be spending her last Christmas as a bachelorette this year. However, she may also celebrate the holiday this year without her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

As a member of the royal family, Princess Beatrice of York is most likely to abide by the long-held tradition of spending Christmas as the Queen's residence at Sandringham. She, along with other royals, will celebrate the annual family gathering at Sandringham.

However, Princess Beatrice couldn't bring Edoardo with her at the Queen's Norfolk estate. Those who can attend the celebration should have royal blood relations to the Queen or spouses of the members of the royal family. Since the 31-year-old princess and Edoardo have yet to be married, he is not likely to get an invite to this exclusive gathering.

The Queen, however, made exceptions in the past. She allowed Meghan Markle to spend Christmas with the royal family in 2017.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November of the same year. The Suits alum was spotted attending the traditional Christmas Day service of the royal family at St. Mary Magdalene church.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo may not enjoy the same exception hence they most likely spend Christmas apart. Mozzi, however, could join the celebration in Christmas 2020.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's daughter is set to tie the knot will the British real estate developer next year. The Buckingham Palace already confirmed their wedding but the Queen has yet to reveal the date of the nuptials. It is a protocol for the members of the royal family who will get married to inform the Queen of their chosen wedding date and the monarch must give her approval.

There were speculations that Queen Elizabeth II is probably waiting for the result of the election this week before she makes an announcement about the wedding date of Beatrice and Edoardo. Royal experts believe that the Queen could be waiting until after the election is over so the announcement will not be overshadowed by the political events in the country.

Beatrice's wedding plans have already been overshadowed by the scandal that engulfed her father, Prince Andrew. There were reports that Bea already canceled her Chiltern Firehouse engagement party on December 18 amidst fear that it would turn into a media circus if the Duke of York would attend the event.

One thing is certain for now, the Beatrice-Edoardo wedding is not happening this year hence it is unlikely that the princess' fiance will be in Sandringham exchanging gifts with the royals on Christmas Eve. The couple is expected to reunite for New Year.
