Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is having a prolific season so far. The England international has scored in double figures already, and the Red Devils have yet to play more half than of their scheduled games in all competitions. Rashford seems the flash the same qualities that made Cristiano Ronaldo a great footballer.

He will need to at least match the 118 goals that the Portuguese superstar has made while headlining for Old Trafford, and the way things are going for Rashford, he appears to be en route.

Only 22, Rashford is certainly getting better and clearly possesses the skills to soon break the 20-point barrier achieved by United greats before him. Manchester Evening News these icons as the following: Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, and of course Ronaldo.

It's not hard to imagine that the youngster can even replicate the great Rooney, credited as the only United player who managed to score 30 points in a season. It's a long way to go for Rashford, but the Reds manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems fairly convinced the young player is destined for greatness.

The Norwegian is even encouraging the comparison to Ronaldo, The Guardian reported. Solskjaer is convinced Rashford has what it takes to take after the United hero, who made waves in the club between 2003 and 2009. And like Rashford, Ronaldo then was in his early 20s.

"The boy has every chance in the world to become a top, top player. Let's hope he continues like this," Solskjaer said of Rashford. He made the remarks following the successive wins by United against Tottenham and Manchester City.

In both games, Rashford figured prominently win. His two points were the exact numbers attributed to the Red Devils when the club turned back the Spurs with Jose Mourinho leading the team.

Most impressively, Rashford continues to flourish even after the decision by Solskjaer to play him on the left-wing. The boy originally favored operating in the middle, but the adjustments forced on him proved he has innate football intelligence.

Going forward, Solskjaer said Rashford would be the go-to man for United when the club needs to bring the ball to the opponent's box. The United boss is sure the youngster will continue with his prolific ways in the months and years to come.

"As long as he keeps being positive and being direct and thinking about getting in front of the goal and getting chances, he'll score goals," Solskjaer said.

As for the comparison with Ronaldo, doing so makes sense, the team manager insisted.

"It's very easy to compare the two of them, yes. Both with skills, body shape, attitude, attributes - everything," he explained.
