Amidst impeaching hearing, Donald Trump still couldn't keep his fingers off his cellphone. His most recent tweets about Hunter Biden backfired and now netizens are urging the Senate to investigate Ivanka Trump.

As new information continued to emerge in the ongoing impeachment proceedings on Trump's controversial Ukraine phone call, the U.S. president posted a tweet about Senator Ted Cruz's statement calling for the investigation of former Vice-President Joe Biden's son. In the statement, Cruz mentioned that Hunter Biden is getting $83,000 a month salary from Burisma Holdings, a major Ukrainian natural gas producer.

According to Cruz, the young Biden's salary is 10 times higher to what a board member of ExxonMobil makes. ExxonMobil is like Burisma. The former is an American multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Texas.

Trump supported Cruz's statement and thanked the senator for making such a claim. POTUS added that Hunter Biden also made a fortune from China after his father became Vice-President.

Many netizens were irked by the president's tweets. Some said Trump is just making himself look bad for claiming wrongdoing on Hunter's dealings with Burisma while his daughter, Ivanka, is allegedly gaining fortune because of her connection at the White House. One Twitter user said Senate should also investigate Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, for the same concern that President Trump is accusing Hunter of.

"You're embarrassing yourself. If you wanna investigate corruption, start with the $82 million Ivanka and Jared made in your swamp of a White House," one wrote.

Another questioned the president for using his position to get Ivanka a job at the White House even though she is not qualified. Several users said the first daughter is not qualified to represent the country, more so in running government's programs. Another user of the platform asked the President why he waited for over two years and after Biden announced his candidacy before he decided to investigate Hunter's connection with Burisma.

Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump has yet to give a new statement about the impeachment since the Judiciary Committee started its first public hearing on December 4. The first daughter is keeping her silence after committing a huge mistake on her last tweet about impeachment in late November.

In her tweet on November 21, Ivanka cited an 1835 quote from French historian and political author Alexis de Tocqueville. Some historians, however, pointed out Ivanka's mistake on her tweet.

Apparently, the quote that she used isn't actually from de Tocqueville. It is from author John Innes Clark Hare's 1889 work American Constitutional Law, in a section which paraphrased de Tocqueville.
