Sarah Ferguson, more popularly known as Fergie, is one of the most misunderstood members of the royal family. The Duchess of York shared that even her oldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, thinks that people misconstrue her as a person.
In an interview with Vogue Arabia, Sarah poured her heart out about the first few years she joined the royal family as Prince Andrew's wife. She said that she can clearly relate to the struggles of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's wife, who is currently experiencing heavy media scrutiny
The Duchess of York said that her daughter worries about how people see Fergie. Like Meghan, she didn't have a good relationship with the media especially after her marriage to Prince Andrew broke down.
Sarah said that she feels incredibly sorry for Prince Harry's wife. Having been in her shoes before, the Duchess of York said that she's doesn't like the bullying and pain Meghan has to endure because she's married to a royal.
Her own daughters have also been the subject of much scrutiny by the media, which makes them quite sympathetic to what their mother went through. It was actually Princess Beatrice who told her mother that she is misperceived because of the bad press.
In 2017 interview, Princess Beatrice said that she has so much admiration for her remarkable mother. Sarah pushed her and her sister Princess Eugenie to be anything they wanted to be no matter what the world will think and that's why her mom can be quite misunderstood.
Princess Beatrice also shared that her female role models in life are her mother and Queen Elizabeth. She said that she feels very lucky to be related to two formidable and incredible women.
Meanwhile, the York princess is set to marry her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi sometime in 2020. The wedding preparations have been quite challenging amid her father Prince Andrew's controversy.
With the press digger deeper into the sex scandal of the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice reportedly needed to change some of her wedding plans so that it won't become a media spectacle. There have been reports that she might be having a destination wedding, instead of a London wedding, to get away from the British media.
Princess Beatrice and Mozzi also cancelled their original plan to host their engagement party at a posh London club for fear that the media will be waiting for her father's appearance. Instead, the couple will be holding their private event at the home of one of their friends.
