Former Arsenal midfielder and currently Pep Guardiola's number 2 at Manchester City Mikel Arteta, is reportedly ready to take the gunners' offer of a managerial job after talks with the club executives. Mail Sports shares photos of Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham and contracts negotiator Huss Fahmy coming out of the Spanish football coach' house in the early hours of Monday morning. It was just a few hours after Manchester City beat the Gunners at the Emirates.
Following the exile of Unai Emery, Arsenal is hoping that interim coach Freddie Ljungberg could lead the club for a few weeks or probably until the summer before they could hire the exiled coach's successor. But, Ljungberg's poor results and failure to improve the standing of the club reportedly triggered the executives to do a quick action. The Gunners reportedly see this week as critical in their search for a new head coach, and the club would like to get the new coach in as soon as they go to Everton on Saturday, reports Mirror.
This led to secret talks at Mikel Arteta's house, with Arsenal now puzzled as to how the press knew about the meeting. Mikel Arteta is currently one of the top favorites for the vacant post at the Emirates. Rumors have it that the Guardiola's number 2 has kept Guardiola updated, but there might be various rules on clubs about talking rivals' coaches as compared to managers.

Mikel Arteta was just a few days away from being the manager of Arsenal in 2018; however, other members of the board reportedly panicked during the last minute and chose the more experienced Unai Emery. Manchester City promised Arteta that we would be Pep Guardiola's successor, but, it no longer looks as definite as it once did. This left the Gunners, and those close to the Spanish coach think that Arteta can now take the big leap into management.

Arsenal revealed that the club is still going through the process and still need to get onboard Head of Football Raul Sanllehi and Technical Director Edu on board before they could appoint Mikel Arteta.
