Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not getting much love from the public and media after they got married last year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been bombarded with constant criticisms that became too much for them to handle.
To avoid more scrutiny from the British media, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took a six-week break to spend the holidays to the US. Rumors then started to swirl that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may renounce their titles. The royal couple also toyed with the idea of relocating to South Africa.
However, royal commentator Juliet Rieden said that these speculations are very impossible as the royal family won’t allow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to renounced their titles or move somewhere else for good. The reason behind this is because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, despite all the hate that they have been getting, are an asset to the British clan.
“They are very, very popular and they are very engaging when you meet them,” she said. “I have been watching the Royal Family for a long time now and Harry and Meghan have a very tactile connection with the public. I don’t just mean they hug people but they really connect with people, people really listen to them, people respond to them really well, they relate to them and they want to meet them.”
Meanwhile, the relocation rumor started when a previous report seemingly hinted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be looking for a second base outside the U.K. Rumor has it that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could possibly move to America, especially after all the hate that the former actress received from the British tabloids.
“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering relocating to the US for great swathes of the year,” The Sun reporter Dan Wootton wrote. “The troubled couple’s upcoming break from work in California is being viewed as a test for a potential future move.”
However, royal expert Victoria Arbiter said that moving to a different location is not that easy for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Unlike the commoners who can quickly move from one place to another, there are a lot of aspects to consider if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex really want to swap Frogmore Cottage in Windsor for life in South Africa, or in any other places, for that matter.
