WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for NCIS season 17 episode 10. Read at your own risk.

NCIS season 17 episode 10 aired on Tuesday night on CBS, with the title "The North Pole." This is a Christmas episode that comes with some unexpected twists and turns to some of the characters, particularly with Ziva and Gibbs.

In NCIS season 17 episode 10, Ziva lost someone special to her, while Gibbs lost someone who's becoming important to him. The sad and unexpected news here is that Adam was dead. He's someone who really cared for Ziva over the past years.

Ziva's heart was with Tony, but Adam made it clear that his heart was with her. He's willing to do everything he can just to save her. He helped Ziva because he loved her, which made his death even sadder. And even in death, he protected Ziva by letting her and Gibbs know Sahar was alive.

Sahar was the person who's been after Ziva for so many years. It was initially believed that she's already dead, but the person who died was actually an impersonator. The real big bad is still alive and wanted to get Ziva. The twist here is that Sahar was lying in plain sight the entire time as Sarah.

It's not a coincidence Sarah is Sahar with letters rearranged and moved into the same neighborhood where Gibbs lives with Phineas. It is a twist that some may have not seen it coming in NCIS season 17 episode 10. After this reveal, Gibbs blamed himself and felt hurt over the whole thing.

He wanted to have proof to make sure Sarah/Sahar was really the person they should be going after. Gibbs was desperate to find some answers, but Ziva wanted a hand-to-hand battle against Sahar. At first, the latter seemed to be the upper hand. but she did something wrong that many villains usually do.

Sahar took too much time; she monologued and Gibbs was forced to shoot her. He was put in a difficult situation as Phineas wanted to know whether or not his mother was safe. But then, Gibbs had to do his job and take her down in order to save Ziva.

There is so much darkness and intense moments within NCIS season 17 episode 10, and the events that happened here will definitely continue in the future episodes. Now, Gibbs needs to move forward, while Ziva did her part to lament not telling Gibbs sooner that she's alive.

NCIS season 17 returns on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, on CBS.
