Cote de Pablo's character, Ziva David, appeared in the first few episodes of NCIS season 17. Even though her return was short, many are still happy to see her back in the show. It was also confirmed she's coming back in a few more episodes this season. So, many are wondering if her return has been extended.
Ziva appeared in the first and second episodes of NCIS season 17, and it has since been confirmed she's coming back for future episodes. The character's next appearance will be on the December 17 episode of the series, which is the final one for 2019. Then, de Pablo is set to appear on the January 7 episode, which is the first one for 2020.
While her come back to these episodes has been announced, some fans still want to see Ziva for more episodes. Right now, however, there's no confirmation that de Pablo's return has been extended, so her future within the series remains unknown as well. But in an interview with KTLA, the actress teased that her character might have a reunion with Tony -- but not immediately.
The actress seemed to suggest the reunion is possible in NCIS season 17, especially since these two characters have a lot of unfinished business. However, this may not happen in an instant since Michael Weatherly, who plays Tony, is filming Bull at the moment. But, if ever confirmed, then de Pablo is coming back for more episodes after her episodes in December and January.
Yet, others think the actress is just building up excitement, and no reunion will happen. As per CarterMatt, the reunion might not be possible due to de Pablo and Weatherly's respective schedules. It would be hard for them to appear because of other prior commitments. In addition, their reunion should also be right in terms of timing for the series itself.
In another related report, de Pablo previously discussed her come back in NCIS season 17. In an interview with the Build Series, the actress said she's really excited, but felt a little bit nervous at the beginning. While she's back in a familiar place, she felt new as she hasn't been there for a long time. She then revealed it feels like home when the crew started clapping when she walked in.
Meanwhile, Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, recently posted a photo of him and de Pablo via Instagram. The photo was taken by their co-star Diona Reasonover (as Kasie Hines), and it's obvious that the co-stars are having fun on set. In fact, the actor even shared on his caption that he loves working with good friends, and then added: "Fun day on set today."
NCIS season 17 airs every Tuesday on CBS.
