Barron Trump, the son of First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump, is a 13-year-old without a social media account. Largely unphotographed as he doesn't always make a public appearance with his parents, Barron is the only son of Melania and is reportedly close to his mother.
In 2018, Melania revealed that Barron has no social media account because this was not his interest. The growing boy is apparently "all into sports" but this father is cautious about letting him play football.
According to the president, he doesn't find the reports about the sports encouraging. Apparently, the right equipment to protect players from concussions does not exist yet.
Recently, the public got a rare glimpse of Barron as he and his parents left the White House to go to Mar-a-Lago for Christmas. Barron is now taller than President Trump, drawing a lot of speculations that he is about 6'5" since his father is 6'2".
According to Celebrity Insider, the public was shocked to see Barron so tall since moving to the White House at 10 years old. With such a towering height, some people are curious if Barron would end up being a model like his mother. Some also wonder if he would pursue politics if he won't get into business like his father.
Meanwhile, amid criticisms about the Trump family, Melania is reportedly very protective about her only son. In a crowd at a restaurant, the First Lady would often shield her son away from the public's view.
When law professor Pamela Karlan mentioned Barron during the impeachment hearing, Melania did not hesitate to call her out on social media. The mother said that her son is only a child and must be accorded the privacy. He must also be spared from politics instead of being dragged into a totally unrelated matter.
It was the one and only time Melania said anything publicly about the impeachment. Karlan reportedly apologized later on, according to People.
The president's impeachment alleged that Trump pressured the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Trump's government allegedly withheld $400 million in aid to the Ukraine military if the investigation did not happen.
Biden is one of the top contenders for the presidential elections in 2020. Karlan testified that Trump undermined democracy and abused power before she mentioned Barron in her speech.
