Fans admired Red Wendy, even more, when it was revealed by her member how her professionalism kept her holding on to the microphone after she fell off the stage at SBS Gayo Daejeon rehearsals.

According to Red Velvet Joy, she was devastated that Wendy was not able to perform on stage for the SBS Gayo Daejeon because she prepared a lot for her solo stage for the cover of Aladdin's Speechless. Joy also shared how shocked the members were because of the accident, All Kpop reported.

"[Wendy] held on to her microphone until the very last moment, refusing to let it go even on her way to the hospital. It truly breaks my heart. But, we couldn't just stand there crying, because we knew that would hurt Wendy too much. All we did was pray," she said.

It can be recalled that SBS came under fire after Red Velvet's Wendy fell 2.5 meters off the stage because a lift did not work properly at the time of the rehearsal. According to SM Entertainment's statement, Wendy suffered from serious injuries after she fell off the stage during rehearsals last December 25.

"Wendy was immediately transferred to the hospital for a thorough examination and it was revealed she suffered injuries to her face, as well as a break in her right pelvis and her right wrist," the statement read.

While SBS was quick to apologize and send their good wishes for Wendy's speedy recovery, fans bombarded the network with criticisms for its unsafe stage conditions when several artists were also spotted slipping on stage while performing, Cheat Sheet reported.

Among those who almost slipped on stage were NCT's Taeyong and TWICE's Sana, while BTS' V was quick to recover from his own slip. Netizens also filmed the broadcast and shared videos of several idols who visibly looked uncomfortable on the stage because of the setup.

Mostly, fans were worried over Wendy's condition as many speculated that it will take months before she fully recovers from her injuries.

"Wendy, Minhyuk, Jin, Solar, Taeyong, Yeji and Jaebum fell and Changkyun who almost fell too because of how SBS didn't organize the event well and that's a lot of idols already, we don't want any more idols to get hurt and risk their safety for this show #ReleaseApologySBSGayo," one fan tweeted.

Fans were further enraged when Dispatch released an eyewitness account of Wendy's accident which indicated neglect on the part of the production team.
