Gamers know Sony will make the PlayStation 5 available in time for the 2020 holiday season but when the console will be introduced is still a mystery. There is a chance though that the PS4 sequel will be outed in the coming days, courted of the CES 2020 that will kick off in Las Vegas next week.

The published calendar showed the tech event will officially start on January 7 but a day earlier, Sony is scheduled to host its own little show within the same occasion and it will be streamed live. The teaser to the same event seems to suggest a major revelation that hopefully involves the PS5.

That could be the case, according to BGR, adding the company has hinted an unveiling that points to a major product update.

"A unique vision of the future, bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotions," the report quoted the Sony teaser as saying.

It seems a giveaway that the Japanese company intends to preview a product that will afford a glimpse of the future, and it could be that this will happen by officially announcing the PS5, or at least bits of the gaming device. After all, the PS5 is Sony's most iconic creation so a peek of things to happen is best channeled through the device.

Why Sony would pick this year's CES as a platform for PS5 updates makes sense. Microsoft has earlier shared the design details of the upcoming Xbox refresh dubbed as the Series X so it's possible the PlayStation maker is looking to match that move and generate excitement in the process.

However, it could prove that the teaser is not for the PS5 at all as Sony is rumored as well to stage an event in February, purportedly to formally make the new device known to the world. This might be the favored intro by Sony as the spotlight will be exclusively trained on the gaming console.

In any case, the excitement building up on the product is at a high level now as affirmed by Twitch streamer Jonathan Blow, described by WCCFTech as a game designed renowned for his opinion that matters to the industry.

The latest word from Blow is quite brief, saying that "the PS5 is pretty good," which indicated that he was given advanced access to the console and what was seen so far impressed him.

By all means, Sony has unabashedly stated that the PS5 is the best yet in the line. Shuhei Yoshida, who is in charge of the console development, recently boasted that game creation for the machine will be easier than ever.

"The ease of making PS5 software is at a level never seen before ... Hardware makes it easier to create games so you can spend more time creating games," ComicBook reported the company executive as saying.

In other words, Yoshida is telling gamers that the PlayStation 5, when released later in the year, will make for a high-quality gaming experience.
