Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a montage of their 2019 experience on Instagram. They surprised everyone with a new snap of baby Archie at the end of the short clip. Although some praised the Sussexes' post, it also received criticisms and mocked.
One Instagram user left a comment, saying Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were "too selfish to care." Another one added that it would have been a decent montage, but they decided to use a song that hinted at their "hard and miserable lives."
This user suggested the royal couple should look outward and see the lives of other people so that they could appreciate their own lives, their health, baby Archie's health, their family, and all the opportunities they have as royals. He continued to say that unlike many others, they didn't have to worry about their food, water, shelter, medicines, and all the necessities most people needed. "Quit the self-pity and grow up," he ended the lengthy note.
Lastly, another follower noticed how easy they looked refreshed and happy when they dropped off the grid for seven weeks. He then said that the rest of them have responsibilities, including Queen Elizabeth II.
Meanwhile, despite the mockery, fans were still excited to see baby Archie's new photo. In the snap, Prince Harry was carrying his son while they were both covered by thick jackets. A royal source confirmed to People that the photo was taken by Meghan Markle herself over the recent Thanksgiving holiday.
The father and son also both donned cozy knit caps, and there was an extraordinary backstory about it. Baby Archie's bonnet was said to be from Make Give Live, a social enterprise that was founded by Claire Conza, who also ran the community-based knitting groups in New Zealand.
For each item purchased from their store, another one would be donated to a Kiwi in need. Meghan Markle got one of the hats as a gift during their visit to New Zealand in October 2018. At the time, she was still pregnant with baby Archie. The kid already outgrew his first hat, so his mom already ordered more in the next two sizes so that she would always have one.
Other images that could be seen in the clip included Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Africa tour, the latter's impromptu dance with the conservationist Jane Goodall, baby Archie's introduction to the world, and his christening. Also, the Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton's outing to Wimbledon together was seen in the video, the WellChild Awards, Remembrance Day, and more.
