President Donald Trump will not be the person he is today if it weren't for his "rock and foundation" -- his wife Melania Trump. Those words came from the president himself amid the cheating allegations that rocked the First Family's relationship in 2018.
Over the holidays, President Trump was asked about his Christmas present for his wife of nearly 15 years. He said that, since he didn't have time to shop due to his work, he got Melania a "beautiful card" instead.
Critics of the Trumps, especially on Twitter, mocked the president for not getting his wife an actual Christmas. Two years ago, for Melania's 48th birthday, her husband also gave her a beautiful card.
At that time, the president made extra efforts to have this card signed by the Trump supporters. He also sent out an email through the Trump Make America Great Again Committee praising his wife as news of his affairs with multiple women, while he was newly-married to Melania, made the headlines.
In the email with the subject line "My better half," Trump encouraged his supporters to extend their birthday wishes for his "beautiful, kind-hearted and exceptional" wife. He also wrote that Melania is the cornerstone of the family who is an incredible mom to their only child, Barron, who is now 13 years old.
But, an ex-White House aide believes Melania will divorce her husband in due time. Omarosa Manigault Newman claimed, in her book, that the only thing stopping the former model from leaving the president now is because he still has the power to invalidate her citizenship and deport her back to Slovenia.
Manigault Newman wrote in the book "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House" that President Trump is such a vindictive man that he will likely have someone look into how Melania got her permanent citizenship. Melania, the former model, supposedly got an Einstein visa, which are usually given to individuals with "extraordinary ability: like academics and businessmen with international acclaim.
Melania's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham, however, downplayed Manigault Newman's claims. She said that Melania rarely interacted with the former White House aide thus she has no first-hand information into the First Lady's life.
The White House also issued a statement in response to Manigault Newman's controversial book. They said that she has a credibility issue and is trying to profit from her book sales by attacking the Trumps.
