BTS member Jimin caught the hearts of fans once again during the recent Golden Disc Awards while his group gathered their first wins for 2020. The Korean artist gained the moniker "model idol" from Chinese netizens because of his top-notch performance and his warmed-hearted gestures to fans. 

Reports have it that Park Jimin was a trending topic in China's social media site Sina Weibo following BTS appearance at the 34th Golden Disc Awards. Jimin earned 510 million views and 1.11 million posts. This gained him the nickname "Model Idol" among the locals in China. 

He also touched the hearts of many fans when videos of him were shared online. In the clips, Jimin was seen making gestures to the fans to not push each other while watching the show. 

Fans of BTS member J-Hope also took to Weibo to expressed their gratitude to Jimin for moving a little so a fan of J-Hope could take a picture of her idol. The sweet gesture of the "Serendipity" singer goes viral on Twitter. The post garnered 1.5 million views, over 61,000 retweets, and 168,000 likes after one day. 

Jimin, also adorably called Jiminie or ChimChim by BTS ARMY, was also praised for acknowledging a fan who holds a J-Hope slogan. BTS ARMY also loves how the 24-year-old singer from Busan showed his adoring friendship with fellow 95ers, Kim Taehyung. During BTS encore performance at GDA, Jimin tried to carry V but failed. V ended by lying on the floor.

Moreover, Jimin's China fanbase, named JIMINBAR_CHINA, also prepared a TV advert to support the singer during the live broadcast of GDA. The ad was played several times throughout the show. 

Meanwhile, BTS was the biggest winner of the 34th Golden Disc Awards. The "Boy With Luv" hitmakers won a total of six awards including the Grand Prizes or Daesangs for both digital and physical album releases. They also took home the K-Pop Star Award and TikTok Golden Disc Popularity Award.

The group's album Map of the Soul: Persona claimed the album daesang while its lead track "Boy With Luv" took home the digital song daesang. The group made yet another history as the first-ever act to won both the digital song and physical album categories in the same year. The founder of BTS's label Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si-hyuk, also took home the Producer of the Year award.
