BTS is, officially, setting up for an early 2020 comeback and fans didn't have to wait long before the biggest boy group in the world dropped the comeback trailer for their new album Map of the Soul: 7. The new music video is actually Interlude: Shadow, a solo performed by Suga, and it presents the darker side of fame that has hounded the members of Bangtan Sonyeondan. Interestingly, the MV also features a different side of Min Yoongi that Army tend to forget about.

The BTS comeback trailer features Suga initially rapping about wanting to be famous ("I wanna be a rap star, I wanna be the top, I wanna be a rock star, I want it all mine") and, then, running down a hallway before ending up on a stage. However, things aren't quite as he expected as he sings about being alone and afraid now that he is on top. Still, he continues with the mantra about seeking success. Strangely, the video then takes on a darker tone.

When the beat changes, so does Suga's voice although he repeats the same thing all over again. It's a grittier, more feral tone that suggests this isn't the same Min Yoongi that BTS fans are familiar with. Interestingly, this other Suga also has different things to rap about. Instead of lamenting about his predicament, the darker Suga insists that they are one and the same and there is no escape. He, then, urges himself to accept their differences because it is the only way to make things better.

Needless to say, Interlude: Shadow has resulted in several new theories about Suga and what the future holds for BTS. Some believe that the comeback trailer revealed the three sides of the idol, which are Min Yoongi (the real Suga), Suga (his idol persona), and Agust D (his other alter ego presented in his mixtape). In addition to that, it may have introduced a Shadow Suga that represents Yoongi's inner demons.

For now, Army continue to speculate about what the comeback trailer for Interlude: Shadow truly is all about. Nevertheless, it is safe to assume that Suga continues to struggle with himself although he already has the fame and success that he had always wanted. Hopefully, the truth will be revealed once BTS releases their comeback album.

The new BTS album is titled Map of the Soul: 7 and is scheduled for release on February 21.
