Manny Pacquiao is expected to fight again in 2020 although there is no clarity on who he will fight next. Several names have been suggested but the name that stands out is Floyd Mayweather Jr.

It has almost been six months since Pacquiao last fought. In July, he faced Keith Thurman and won via split decision to cop the WBA super welterweight title. Before that, he defeated Adrien Broner and Lucas Matthysse. These were fitting redemption fights following his controversial loss to Jeff Horn in 2017.

Even at 41, it appears the Pac-Man has no plans of slowing down. Regardless, Pacquiao was picked by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum as the Fighter of the Decade. He singles out the Filipino's ability to take care of his body and keep himself in shape, the Manila Times reported.

“It is still Manny Pacquiao fighting. And that’s the important thing whether he’s fighting for Top Rank or fighting for another promotion, it’s still Manny Pacquiao in the ring. Clearly, he’s the fighter of the decade. Manny Pacquiao belongs to the greats and will go down with the greats," said Arum.

Mayweather teased that he plans to return and fight in 2020. Pacquiao is aware of it but is not limiting his choice to the undefeated American boxer. Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia have been mentioned with a next Pacquiao fight possibly happening in April.

Choosing Spence will be interesting the 29-year-old pug was in a car accident in October last year and is still recovering. He claims that he will be ready by late spring or early summer and will not have a tune-up fight.

Garcia looms like a strong prospect. The 31-year-old is set to clash with Ivan Redkach on Jan. 25 and is tipped to win. According to Sean Gibbons of MP Promotions, a Garcia win will make him the top candidate to fight the boxer/senator next, the Philippine Star reported.

There are other names in the list worth considering as well. There is Mikey Garcia, Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter waiting in the wings. But Garcia's upcoming fight could seal the deal.

Although it was not mentioned, Pacquiao and his camp could be among the serious onlookers on Jan. 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The only way that Garcia could be robbed of a date with Pacquiao is if Mayweather suddenly enters the picture and agree to a long overdue rematch with the eight-time division champion.
