Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a busy first week back in London. Aside from visiting the Canada House, they also went to the Grenfell Kitchen in secret before dropping the bombshell that they would no longer want to be senior members of the royal family.

In a post on Instagram, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared photos of that secret visit. According to the Sussex couple, they were so happy to reconnect with the cooks and learn of their latest projects.

The Grenfell Kitchen is composed of women who have come together to prepare meals for the victim of the tragic Grenfell fire. They published a cookbook last year that had Meghan's foreword.

The cookbook raised over half a million in sales and sold over 130,000 copies around the world, per The Telegraph. The proceeds went to the survivors of the Grenfell fire.

Meanwhile, Meghan has flown back to Canada after staying a week in London. Since announcing their plans to step back from royal life, Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Kensington Palace, and the Duke of Sussex have been working out a new arrangement of their new roles in the royal family.

Meghan returned to Canada to be with her son, Archie Harrison, who has been staying with her best friend Jessica Mulroney and the baby's nanny. Prince Harry, on the other hand, will not be following his wife and son, for the meantime, as he has a few royal commitments in the coming weeks.

Reports stated that Meghan had no plans of staying long in the United Kingdom after she and Prince Harry arrived from their Christmas vacation. She only came back to attend to some meetings and then returned to her second home in the Commonwealth country. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex expressed that they would like to "balance" their time between the U.K. and North America, thus the decision to step back as royals.

Buckingham Palace was reportedly upset and disappointed over the announcement because Prince Harry was told not to make a statement until things have been finalized. However, the Duke of Sussex has had several talks with his family over their decision during the holidays and was told to put his ideas down in writing.

Prince Harry, however, reportedly didn't want to document what he wanted for fear that it might leak in the press. Part of their conditions was that they would also like to control what will be reported about their life as royals.
