Chinese companies made quite an impression during the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, USA, with a vast array of high-tech gadgetry and other gizmos.

One word to describe China's imposing presence at the CES 2020: "Innovation"; they seem to have come up with just about everything, from electric vehicles that are at par with its giant Western rivals to tiny U-shaped toothbrush packed with electronic wonders.

The Consumer Technology Association (also the CES 2020 organizer) president and CEO Gary Shapiro noted that Chinese companies are increasingly emerging as an "innovation powerhouse".

For this year's event, top Chinese firms, including Huawei, TCL, Lenovo, Byton, DJI, Haier, Hisense, Konka and ZTE, all returned to the CES with their latest tech offerings.

At the event, Lenovo unveiled the world's first 5 G personal computer, putting 5 G access for the first time into a luxury computing experience outside mobile technology. Lenovo also showcased other innovative 5 G products, including the world's first foldable PC, the ThinkPad X1 Fold, and its "Razr" 5 G foldable smartphone.

Byton, China's leading electric car manufacturer, showed its first production model, the M-Byte. The electric-powered sport utility vehicle features a digital cockpit that enhances driving experience, including a cutting-edge 48-inch Shared Experience Display - the world's largest in-car display for a production vehicle.

Skyworth, China's largest television maker launched its first 8 K TV and a wallpaper-thin OLED TV. With a resolution four times higher than 4 K, the 8 K TV enables viewers to see realistic pictures, while the wallpaper-thin OLED TV is inspired by the thin and light paper quality.

TCL Communication announced a range of "linkhub" and "movetrack" products, allowing all on - the-go smart devices, including pets, to communicate. These connected devices serve to enhance TCL's integrated television, audio, smart home appliances, and mobile devices ecosystem.

Chinese entrepreneurs may not be as well established as the big names in the business, but their creative spirit and aspirations are as strong as that.

Founded in 2013 alone, Huami, for instance, launched six new smart wearable items, including the innovative virtual fitness and category-redefining Amazfit HomeStudio that reinvent the conventional fitness approach.

Specializing in smart robots, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality and augmented reality, PowerVision Robot Corporation unveiled its newest product, the PowerEgg X, at the CES 2020. The multi-function system as well as a high-performance drone can be used as an autonomous personal AI camera.

The CES 2020 hosted some 4,500 enterprises, almost 25 percent of which are from China. China remains as the "top international market at CES," with many Chinese firms showcasing their technology to build their brand and forge global partnerships, the CTA told Xinhua in an e-mail.
