Apple had recently submitted new documents before the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) that appeared to indicate the upcoming releases of computing devices that run macOS Catalina or version 10.15. The filings were dated December 26 and seen as requirements for planned device deployments in Russia and neighboring countries.

In the past, the EEC filings made by Apple led to the rollout of Mac- and iOS-powered devices,, but as the documents revealed, one of the devices set to come out will run on Catalina.

It is notable,, though, that if the mentioned hardware will indeed make a market debut, the choice of location seems unusual on the part of Apple. According to MacRumors, such filings usually mean that the Russian market and the region around it will get a taste of fresh Apple releases.

If that is the case, the best bet is that of another version of the 2020 MacBook Pro with a smaller screen, perhaps measuring 13-inch. Or it can also be a new MacBook Air with the components a bit trimmed down, such as a downsized battery.

Whatever MacBook build that the EEC filings will bring out, it seemed confirmed that the device or devices will also benefit from the revised keyboard setup that was first seen with the 16-inch MacBook Pro, according to 9to5Mac.

"It's possible the yet to be released notebook could be a 13-inch MacBook Pro with the redesigned Magic Keyboard and scissor switches that arrived with the 16-inch MacBook Pro late last year," the report said.

If true, this will be a welcome move as the scissor-switch so far has attracted praise from users and experts alike. The change from the problematic butterfly design was immediately embraced in light of the flood of complaints about the older mechanism, which proved to malfunction rather easy.

In contrast, the new Magic Keyboard won praises for the redesigns that saw the new MacBook Pro keys boasting of "full millimeter of travel, larger keycaps, and snappier mechanism," Digital Trends said in a related report.

The 2020 MacBook Pro likewise impressed on a host of other feature upgrades such as the notebook's impressive screen and a speaker setup that is both loud and clear. Particularly, Apple made clear that the new computer was designed with content creation in mind, and many agreed that the targeted function was spot on.

However, the size of the 16-inch MacBook Pro was a bit of a downside for portability, but with the expected release of a 13-inch version or a MacBook Air, this complaint will be muted by Apple.
