After 15 months of no skirmish for Conor McGregor, the Irishman is again ready to make a mess as he is scheduled to face Donald Cerrone in a Saturday scuffle. McGregor, however, is willing to discuss bits of distraction prior to the fight day. Already, he is looking to the next bout, which according to him is a toss between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

McGregor's first encounter with Mayweather did not end well in 2017, at least for him. He agreed to a showdown with the American using boxing rules, which favored the latter. Pundits agreed the MMA fighter put up a decent showing until he ran out of steam in Round 10.

He lost by a technical knockout but according to Forbes got richer by no less than $80 million. After more than two years, McGregor is demanding a rematch, perhaps to exact revenge as he remains convinced he could have defeated Mayweather.

It's undeniable too that the lure of money is too strong to resist. A second fight with Mayweather could mean McGregor will stand to earn a bigger paycheck, certainly an upgrade from the first outing.

Also, according to McGregor, boxing with Mayweather will lead to a different result. He would be the victor.

"I know I'd beat Floyd. I'd beat Floyd if we rematched - when we rematch," Fox Sports reported the fighter as saying.

He further revealed Mayweather had originally agreed to a second bout, and for that, the American will make the adjustments. The two had a pact that a next fight will be governed by MMA rules, but Mayweather seemed to have abandoned that agreement.

If that is the case, McGregor said his camp is arranging a match that would bring in Pacquiao to the picture. He hinted he would be boxing against the Filipino legend.

"I would be open to other boxing bouts. You know, Manny [Pacquiao]. We're actually close to signing Manny. There's been talks about the Manny fight as well," McGregor claimed.

In reaction to the revelation by McGregor, Sean Gibbons, the man in charge of Pacquiao's MP Promotions, told The Philippine Star that indeed the Pacman meeting McGregor atop the ring could happen.

"Looking at all possibilities" were the exact words by Gibbons as if suggesting that when Pacquiao gets to box again, it could be against McGregor.

Gibbons, however, stopped short of giving confirmation if his camp is working on the claims made by the MMA fighter.

It is believed that the boxing icon will fight again this 2020, possibly against Danny Garcia in a bout that likely will be staged in April. Then Pacquiao is seen to do a rematch with Mayweather that reports said could be held in Saudi Arabia or again, in Las Vegas.
