Netizens have spoken, and Taeyeon was voted as the Best Female Solo Star of the Year and Best Trust & Listen Artist of the Year at the 2019 Kpopstarz Awards.

For the Best Female Solo Artist category, Taeyeon beat another strong contender, IU, who took the silver award. Warsaw took the third spot.

For the Best Trust & Listen Artist of the Year, Taeyeon beat IU again, taking the gold position over IU's silver award and EXO Chen's bronze award.

According to 2019 Kpopstarz Awards, Taeyeon was given both awards for her development and special achievements as a solo artist. She also earned the award because of her strong vocal skills.

These were not the only awards that the Girls Generation member took home from last year's activities. It can be recalled that Taeyeon staged two comebacks as a solo artist last year.

She won Gaon Music Chart's Song of the Year (March) for her song Four Seasons while her comeback in October became one of the nominees for the same category.

She also won the Digital Bonsang for Four Seasons at the Golden Disc Awards. The same song won Best Ballad at the Melon Music Awards, and it also earned her a MAMA for Best Vocal Performance in 2019.

Taeyeon's OST contribution, All About You, for IU's drama Hotel del Luna was also nominated for Best OST at the Seoul Music Awards and Best Original Soundtrack for the 2019 Korean Drama Award.

Taeyeon was also tapped to perform the Korean version of Into the Unknown, for the animated film Frozen 2. Fans were impressed by how easily she nailed the notes that were originally performed by Broadway star Idina Menzel.

Despite the success, 2019 was not an easy year for Taeyeon. Still, fans were happy to see her bravely soldier on to pursue her love of music after back to back tragedies that happened in October and November last year.

It can be recalled that two of her good friends - Sulli and Goo Hara, were believed to have committed suicide a month apart from each other to the shock of Kpop fans worldwide.

It can be recalled that after news of Sulli's death, Taeyeon postponed the release of her comeback to mourn her friend properly.

Her comeback track, Spark, was well received by local and international fans for its strong and inspirational message, urging listeners to find and pursue the passions that will make them happy, Billboard reported.
