Following the revelation of five new characters that comprise the initial batch of Fighters Pass DLCs, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will get six more brawlers that should make the hit Nintendo Switch game title even more exciting. Who gets included in Vol. 2 that will touch down this January remains unconfirmed but there is no shortage of speculations.
From "Death Stranding," one new hero that is likely to join the fun is Sam Porter Bridges, and this was teased by voice actor Geoff Keighley in a Twitter post. According to his tweet, a character from Death Stranding might just a crossover to the SSBU, and the EAT for this is before the end of the month.
Keighley giving hints on this has the legs to stand on as he was the voice behind Ludens Fan, who is a character in the same game title. And it is not impossible that Keighley has access to such information since he is known as a close pal of Hideo Kojima, the creator of Death Stranding, the Express reported.
In turn, Kojima is a friend of SSBU director Masahiro Sakurai so there are dots between the personalities that surely connect, enough for fans of Smash Bros. to presume that Sam Porter Bridges is among the latest batch of DLC that will be added to the title.
Another possible add-on was reportedly hinted by Sakurai himself, who was shown in a screenshot trying his hands-on Minecraft for the Switch platform. The image fired up some guess works, of course, and the best of them indicated the game icon is doing some research works in preparation for collaboration between Nintendo and Microsoft.
Should this will lead to a DLC for the SSBU, fans would want to see the beloved Steve, a possibility that is designed for the Fighters Pass volume two or for a future DLC installment, according to Comic Book. And it makes sense as Smash Bros. fans have long been clamoring for Nintendo to consider Minecraft characters to make the jump to the Switch via the SSBU title.
In a related report, The Gamer said SSBU fans are expecting that the new heroes will more texture to the game title as the first batch was somewhat generally uninspiring. For instance, while Byleth was a welcome inclusion, he certainly represented an overload of "Fire Emblem" treatment that is present in the game.
On a brighter note, Nintendo padding up the SSBU with new characters strongly indicated that the title will be around for quite a long time and that more compelling additions will be forthcoming, the report added.
The Fighters Pass Vol. 2 is ready for preorder starting on January 28, as announced by Nintendo.
