Queen Elizabeth shouldn't consider giving the U.K. government the power to fire or hire members of the royal family. A poll revealed that majority do not want the British monarchy to follow other types of monarchy in Europe.

As the Grand Ducal Family in Luxembourg is considering giving its government such power over their royal family, an impressive 60 percent of respondents in Britain said they are against giving the British government the same control. One respondent said that doing so would make the monarchy vulnerable as government officials are driven by political favors and motivations who could easily change their sides.

Another respondent said that the Luxembourg Grand Ducal Family is different from the British monarchy. So, proposing for politicians to have control over the Queen and the royal family could be damaging to the institution.

Many respondents expressed that they still prefer the current system and will likely also prefer the same when Prince Charles becomes the King of England. When Prince William becomes the ruler, the royal family could likely be slimmed down as well.

Some respondents, however, stated that if the choice to fire members of the British royal family was possible, the power must be given to the people and not government officials. One said that members of the Parliament will use this for political favors; thus, giving the power to the likes of Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be detrimental to Queen Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, reports revealed that Prince Andrew has been Queen Elizabeth's "rock" as she dealt with Prince Harry and Meghan's exit from the royal family. A source told The Sun that Prince Andrew has been in constant conversations with his mother on the phone. They have been talking about how the family is falling apart.

The media has always referred to Prince Andrew as Queen Elizabeth's favorite son. In November, the Duke of York was embroiled in his own controversy and was forced to resign from his royal duties.

Since then, Prince Andrew has been keeping quite a low profile in the media. He wasn't a visible presence in many royal family events since then, especially after Virginia Roberts Giuffre accused Prince Andrew of having sexual relations with her while she was still a minor.

On Sunday, Prince Andrew was seen with Queen Elizabeth in church in Sandringham after the monarch secured a deal with Prince Harry and Meghan to leave their royal duties beginning spring of 2020. Prince Harry left for Canada on Monday to join Meghan and their son in their new life.
