Chinese economic analysis provider GlobalEcon has announced its expansion to Shanghai to serve the growing demand for its services in The Greater China. The announcement revealed that the team of economic experts and managers would be deployed to Shanghai whom all of which possess outstanding credentials and were significant players in antitrust cases in China.

Last Tuesday, Global Economics Group (GlobalEcon) announced that it has opened its second office in the country at the heart of Shanghai. The company claimed that the move was in response to the emerging demand for economic and management consulting services in China. It was also revealed that the competition policy in China encouraged the company to expand throughout the country.

Otherwise known as The Greater China team, the expansion would be participated by leading economic experts in China, senior economists, financial consultants, professional associates, and managers in China. Dr. Vanessa Yanhua Zhang who has led the GlobalEcon team since its establishment would lead the team.

The establishment of the Shanghai branch was said to be one of GlobalEcon's international expansion strategy in providing economic analysts for high-profile antitrust and regulatory implementations along with intellectual property rights (IPR) litigations in China.

According to GlobalEcon Chairman David S. Evans, the courts and agencies in China have achieved great progress in welcoming sophisticated economic analysis services by virtue of the Anti-Monopoly Law in 2008. Since then, the company has extended its services to the implementation of the law.

Evans also added that the company is looking forward to further enhancements on the implementation of antitrust laws in China. It was revealed that GlobalEcon has been a significant help in antitrust cases and IPR in China since 2011.

Evans and Zhang had served as economic experts on behalf of the Tencent case, the first antitrust case decided by the Supreme Court of China. They have also worked in private litigations along with agency investigations and mergers.

The announcement also claimed that the company would also be engaged in litigations regarding abuse of dominance or monopolization and cartels. It would also welcome issues involving collusion, financial regulations along with public utility regulations.

According to the official website of GlobalEcon, the company encompasses world-class thought leaders who are brought to court and aid them in complying or resolving regulatory issues. The company also claimed that they possess the deep practical experience and is composed of a multi-disciplinary staff who would serve as econometricians and finance economists to its Chinese clients. Moreover, the company is also involved in providing independent and rigorous economic analysis services in matters concerning policy, regulations, and legal conflicts throughout the world.
