Arrow season 8 is nearing its ending and the series finale will air next week with the title "Fadeout". Stephen Amell has played Oliver Queen/Green Arrow since the series debuted on The CW. Now, the actor revealed why he signed on for the final installment.

In an interview with Michael Rosenbaum on his Inside of You podcast, Amell said he initially prepared for season 7 as he thought it would be the final installment of the series. But then, he revealed the studio came back with an offer -- something that he could not refuse.

Amell said he loves Arrow season 8, but also admits he was there for the money. It's nice to see an actor candidly talking about this matter, and there's no shame in saying that as he worked hard for it. The actor also said that it's "fiscally irresponsible" for him say no to the project after renegotiating.

Meanwhile, Amell's next gig would be Starz's upcoming Heels. No details were revealed about the new series, but he said it would not start its production until March. For now, the actor doesn't want any responsibility -- aside from being a husband and a father.

In another related report, the finale of Arrow season 8 is arriving next week and viewers will be seeing some familiar faces in the series' final run. For instance, Emily Bett Rickards is returning and will reprise her role as Felicity Smoak.

The character returns for one last time to pay her respect to her late husband, who met his ultimate demise in Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. For longtime Arrow fans, they know that Felicity and Oliver have been a huge part of the series for most of its run.

In addition, Joe Dinico is also coming back as Ragman; one of the most favorite recurring characters in the series. Willa Holland and Colton Haynes are returning as well in Arrow season 8, reprising their role as Thea and Roy, respectively.

Moreover, the series finale will feature a crossover event, with Caity Lotz's Sara Lance and with Grant Gustin's Barry Allen returning for one more time. Also, Sea Shimooka is back as Emiko Queen and Susanna Thompson as Moira.

Arrow season 8 finale is set to air on Tuesday, Jan. 28, on The CW. The final episode didn't much detail on what viewers can expect. But, the synopsis notes that it would be the final events in the story of the Green Arrow.
