The Cupertino company Apple released the iPhone 11 series in Sept. 2019. The current generation iPhone series proves that it is the more popular flagship series compared to its predecessors. Apple has recently asked chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) to increase its production of A13 Bionic chip, according to Bloomberg.

Apple's TSMC A13 Bionic chip is on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Based on a new report, it appears that the Cupertino company wants to increase the production of the chip. The decision could be because of the growing demand for its current-generation iPhone series.

Meanwhile, the increase in the demand for iPhone 11 could be attributed to the aggressive pricing strategy of the Cupertino tech giant. Several analysts claim that the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 pro are exceeding anticipated sales. Based on a new data from CIRP, as reported by 9to5Mac, the sales of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, made up the 69 percent sales of all iPhone sold between the month of Oct. and Dec. 2019.

According to Bloomberg, the iPhone 11 series is currently outperforming both Apple's expectations and market demand. It simply means that Apple could not keep up with the current demand, thus the request for increased A13 Bionic chip production. The report adds that one of its sources particularly identified the entry-level iPhone 11 as the driver for the increased demand.

Another reason for Apple bumping up the production of the Bionic chipset could be due to the arrival of the iPhone SE 2. Earlier reports claimed that the entry-level compact iPhone SE 2 would use the same Bionic chip as the iPhone 11 series. Apple has not yet revealed the official name of the affordable iPhone, but it is rumored to sport the same design as the iPhone 8.

Bloomberg reported yesterday that the budget iPhone would enter mass production on Feb. 2020. It could mean that the iPhone SE 2 might be officially unveiled as early as Mar. 2020. The Cupertino company is also anticipated to launch its new flagship series in Sept. 2020.

It could be called the iPhone 12 series, which, according to reports, would use the next generation Bionic chip called A14 SoC. TF Securities Analyst and Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo earlier reported that the iPhone 12 series would have four models, and some of them will feature 5G support.

At this point, we suggest not to get too excited about these details despite that the sources are credible and legit.
