French striker Kylian Mbappe is said to be interested in joining Premier League club Liverpool and the transfer from Paris Saint-Germain could possibly happen soon at a staggering price of between €300 and €350 million. The World Cup winner is thought to favor playing under the guidance of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Mbappe himself seemed to flirt with the idea of heading to Anfield when he recently made comments that revealed his admiration of the English club. While there are alternative transfer scenarios linked to the PSG player, such as his reported interest in Real Madrid, it is Liverpool that draws the most attention.
According to French journalist Julien Laurens, Liverpool acquiring Mbappe will not be a problem as there appears to be mutual interest, meaning the Frenchman is toying with the idea of leaving France for England.
Laurens, however, made clear that the PSG superstar joining up with the Reds will cost the English team by up to €350 million. If the transfer will push through, Fadeaway World said it "would likely become one of the most expensive transfers of all time."
Most importantly, Mbappe making the move to Liverpool will make the latter even more powerful, potentially making the team almost impossible to beat, the report added.
Laurens also claimed that the PSG star is open to join up with Liverpool, but a transfer deal has to get the clearance from the Paris club. That should mean Liverpool execs will have to meet the payment demand coming from PSG.
"If Liverpool can pay the €300 million or maybe €350 million with the bonuses, and put that on the table - which is what PSG will ask anyone to sign Mbappe," Mirror reported the football expert as saying.
The journalist further explained that Liverpool has to make use of the power of persuasion because Mbappe's plan includes playing one day for Spanish giants Real Madrid. That can be set aside if Klopp can offer a pay package that will be hard to refuse.
"Real Madrid is his dream and one day there is a certainty that he will play at the Bernabeu for Real Madrid But he's only 21 years of age so there is plenty time for him to go and play in Madrid one day," Laurens claimed.
It's a good thing though that the Premier League also appeals to Mbappe and more so Liverpool, which undeniably is a club that will have an easy pull on a young player like the PSG striker.
"Liverpool is a very attractive proposition for any top player in the world right now with what they are putting together and the project of Jurgen Klopp," the journalist said, adding the chance of landing Mbappe will greatly depend on how much the English club is willing to spend.
