BTS is known for leaving some easter eggs on interviews, appearances, live broadcasts, and more. Despite ARMYs being masters to cracking these codes, they sometimes miss some of the major hints.
In a new Bangtan Bomb episode uploaded to BTS‘s BANGTANTV YouTube channel, it was revealed that Jimin shared a spoiler for his solo project. While ARMYs were busy bursting into UWUs with Jimin’s statement and gesture at the time, they didn’t know that the BTS star was already giving them a hint.
The moment happened back in 2018, but BANGTANTV just recently shared it on its YouTube channel. There, the BTS boys graced the SBS red carpet and talked about their year.
“2018 was tough, and we really worked hard. I hope that in 2019, I can be someone whose face has a special glow,” Jin said, a statement that anyone would expect from Mr. Worldwide Handsome.
Naturally, the MC asked Jin to do some poses, which he happily obliged. The rest of the BTS boys were laughing yet supporting him at the same time. RM even covered his eyes to show how blinding Jin’s glow was.
But Jimin was more serious when it was his turn to speak. “I think I shared a great year with the members. I hope to prove myself even more worthy next year by keeping the promises that I’ve made with myself,” he said.
Suddenly, all the boys held their pinky finger up, to show the “promise sign.” While it was just a cute moment at the time, the whole “promise” thing was actually a hint from Jimin as he was about to release his single, “Promise.”
After the red carpet, RM and J-Hope couldn’t help but tease Jimin for saying the word “promise.” Knowing that they couldn’t say anything about Jimin’s upcoming single yet, the two older boys acted like they were in shock that Jimin shared his promise all of a sudden.
“Why the promise? Why the sudden promise?” RM asked Jimin, whose cheeks were about to burst from controlling his smile. “Show us the promise pose, please,” J-Hope said.
Although Jimin decided to keep quiet, probably hoping that his two hyungs would stop and go away, RM continued: “Can you tell us why you made a promise? A sudden promise. Making a promise out of nowhere.” J-Hope then asked, “Is this a spoiler?”
Even though Jimin didn’t say a word, RM and J-Hope prolonged the topic. “Why did you feel the need to promise?” RM asked him. “I know, why a promise?” J-Hope wondered while holding his pinky up. Jimin didn’t answer all their questions and just gave them a small giggle.
